FORMER England and Lancashire cricketer David Lloyd is preparing for a second game of the season with Accrington CC.
The Sky Sports commentator is set to be involved in this weekend’s top-of-the-table clash with Rawtenstall, after recovering from a hamstring injury he sustained in his last outing against Haslingden.
Although Lloyd impressed with the bat, with a decent knock of 15, the Thorneyholme Road side suffered their first defeat of the season.
But after reaching the Worsley Cup final for the first time in 19 years, Lloyd is hoping to keep Accrington on course for a league and cup double.
“I'm happy to report that I've come through my fitness test and I'll be back in action for Accrington's top of the table clash against Rawtenstall on Sunday,” he said.
“The hamstrings are sorted and I'm fit and raring to go.
“Rawtenstall are top and we're only (five points) behind, so it's a big game and I hope the weather holds up so I can get back in the swing of things.
“It'll be good to play again after a week spent watching loads and loads of cricket.”
