ASHWELL Prince has rejoined LV= County Champions Lancashire for a third spell as the Red Rose team's overseas player.

The South Africa batsman initially arrived at Old Trafford for the start of the 2009 season as cover for VVS Laxman and averaged 52.60 from five first-class matches.

He returned the following season for an interim period – during which he was awarded his county cap - before returning to South Africa at the end of May.

Prince will play in the LV= County Championship and Clydesdale Bank 40 matches for Lancashire this coming season.

Prince said: “I am delighted to be returning to Lancashire.

"I love the place and how the lads go about their work. I'm really looking forward to joining up with the squad in early April and contributing to a successful campaign.”
