Atif Ashraf's 64 was not enough for Darwen as they crashed by 76 runs at Carnforth.
The home side notched up 225-8, with Ryan Bailey making 89 on his debut and captain Adam Hornby weighing in with 48, including four sixes.
But Darwen were skittled out for 149 in reply, with Ashraf top-scoring for the visitors.
