T20 semis decided on the toss of a coin
2:30pm Monday 25th June 2012 in Cricket
THE group stages of the Moorhouse’s Lancashire League Twenty20 ended with the toss of coins on Friday to decide the final round of matches.
Jon Fielding’s Ramsbottom, winners for the past two years, won a crucial toss at Haslingden – and that decision meant both teams went through from Group B.
Rammy went through as group winners but Haslingden’s run rate saw them pip Enfield as best runners-up.
Enfield lost to Church on the toss of a coin, a result that took Craig Fergusson’s men through.
Lowerhouse won a coin toss at Nelson and that saw Todmorden move into the last four from Group C.
Accrington won at Rishton, Bacup called right against Edenfield and Burnley beat Colne.
The semi-finals take place on Friday night with Haslingden travelling to Church and Ramsbottom entertaining Todmorden.
A major mopping up operation is taking place to clear the ground of the floods which led to Saturday’s game with Church being called off.
