RAWTENSTALL have reached the semi final of the Moorhouses T20 competition as they overcame Todmorden by 29 runs writes Matthew Jones.

Rawtenstall who travel Lowerhouse in the semi final won the toss and decided to bat. Openers Joe McCluskie and Chris Cook Martin added 46 for the first wicket until Keiran Gee (1-27) removed Cook Martin for 21.

Matt Kershaw joined McCluskie with the score on 48, the pair added 41 until a flurry of wickets left Rawtenstall 103-5 from being 89-2 with Ali and professional Bilwal Bhatti doing the damage.

Nick Payne then hit 47 as Rawtenstall posted 181-7 . In reply, Todmorden slipped to 48-5 before Elliot Gilford (43), Kristain Garland (22) and Andrew Sutcliffe (17) contributed down the order but it wasn’t enough for victory as they fell 29 runs short. McCluskie finished with figures of (3-32) off 4.

Enfield enjoyed a 100 run with over Ramsbottom and finish in first place in the Blond Witch Group.

Enfield won the toss and elected to bat, Adam Bracewell (68) and professional Graeme Van Buuren (71) added 115 for the first wicket before closing on 204-7. Ramsbottom professional Daryn Smit took (3-28) off 4. He then hit 51 but it wasn’t enough for victory as Ramsbottom finished up on 104-9.

In the other group’s fixture Accrington beat local rivals Rishton by 27 runs at Thorneyholme Road.

In the Pride of Pendle Group Lowerhouse finished in first place as they thrashed Colne by nine wickets at the Horsefield. Joe Halstead (2-12) and Matt Walker (2-17) as Colne finished on 77. With Aaron Pollard top scoring with 20.

Lowerhouse reached Colne’s target in 5 overs as professional Cobus Pienaar top scored with 29 while Jonny Whitehead hit an unbeaten 20.

Burnley also book their place in the semi final away at Enfield as they overcame Bacup by 7 wickets at Turf Moor.
