LANCASHIRE have turned their back on the Foster’s Lancashire League after taking the decision not to play any of their second team games at local grounds.

The Red Rose seconds played a home game with Yorkshire at Todmorden last term – and while rain wrecked that match there were hopes they would return.

But the Second XI Championship fixtures, which were released this week, see Lancashire playing home matches at the likes of Northrop Hall, Westhoughton, Southport and Liverpool.

In the past Lancashire have played second team games at East Lancashire, Ramsbottom, Nelson and more recently Haslingden and they have also been regular visitors to Centre Vale.

They will actually make two visits to Todmorden, though, after Yorkshire arranged a one-day Roses second team clash and a three-day Second XI Championship battle with Lancashire for the ground in August. Todmorden is a regular home ground for the White Rose.
