Lancashire League looks towards a final fling
6:50am Monday 19th November 2012 in Cricket
Foster’s Lancashire League chiefs are ready to consider a change to the format of the Moorhouse’s Twenty20 competition to create a showpiece finals day.
Currently the final is played at the home of one of the two finalists on a Friday night – but if clubs agree that could be scrapped in favour of day of cricket that sees both semi-finals followed by the main event.
There is no change to the group stages for 2013 and holders Ramsbottom begin their quest for a fourth successive title with a home match against Edenfield in the opening round on Friday, May 31.
Runners up Church entertain Rishton, Accrington visit East Lancs, Nelson play Burnley, Colne travel to Todmorden and Rawtenstall entertain Haslingden.
