D-day for Burnley's out of contract players
DECISIONS: Owen Coyle
DECISIONS: Owen Coyle

BURNLEY boss Owen Coyle is today set to hold talks with his six remaining out-of-contract players in preparation for new additions when the transfer window opens on July 1.

Of the group whose deals expire in the summer, it is expected goalkeeper Brian Jensen, defender David Unsworth, midfielder James O'Connor and 18-year-old striker Jay Rodriguez will be offered terms.

To be honest I am a tad disapointed if this news is true.

Jensen - I prefer him instead of Kiraly, but I would rather have my grandma in goal lol, Jensen can be a really top notch keeper on his day, but you know in the back of your mind that a clanger is waiting to happen. I would give him a new one-year deal but get rid of Kiraly and bring in a number one keeper (i.e. Thomas Sorenson?). Jensen good back-up keeper. But if we have funds let both keepers go and bring in two new keepers but I doubt it.

Rodriguez - would give new deal to, hopefully he can progress like Lafferty and McCann have. Could be a gem?

Unsworth - I would give him a new deal. I believe that he could be involved in a coaching role at the club. Been one of our best defenders this season.

O'Connor - works 100% hard but for the last three seasons we have been crying out for a Olifinjana(Wolves) type player. O'Connor works hard but I would be disappointed if he was in our starting XI for the start of our next campaign.

When he got the chance he didn't impress, did he? I can't recall anyone crying out when he was released last summer. Most of the so called fans on here only "remember" what suits them.
