Burnley defender Jon Harley has apologised in person after accidentally injuring a Preston North End fan while clearing the ball on Saturday.
Pensioner Joe Wallbank, who sits on the front row of the Tom Finney Stand, needed treatment to a cut eye and nose after his glasses were smashed when he was struck in the face by Harley's clearance.
Harley made his way to the medical room after the game to check on the 80-year-old's wellbeing, and hand over his match shirt, while Burnley FC have also agreed to cover the cost of a new pair of spectacles.

That's next season's transfer budget gone!
Thanks for the 6 easy points!
On a serious note - Get well soon Mr Wallbank.

Nice gesture though - shows that Harley is a model professional.
Pity Graham Lancashire wasn't many seasons ago when he struck a shot, which went around the post and knocked my pie and peas out of my hand - all down my front. It ruined my t-shirt and I had to pay £2.00 for another portion of pie and peas! I didn't even get a sorry out of the player, or a free portion of pie and peas off the club! £2.00 was a lot for me back then in my days as a poor secondary school student!
