Blackburn boxer Dezzi Higginson suffered a disappointing defeat to former Commonwealth champion Paul Truscott at Oldham Leisure Centre.
The 29-year-old, who has hopes of becoming one of Britain’s top 10 lightweights, was retired in the fifth round of the eight round contest.
Higginson, who trains at Lower Darwen’s Fit2XL Gym, was hoping to avenge the defeat he suffered to Truscott back in 2007.
It was his second successive defeat after losing on points to promising Irishman Andy Murray back in April.
