SETANTA Sports have came under fire from boxing fans after concerns that Michael Jennings’ world title fight won't be screened live.
In the build-up to Jennings’ clash against Miguel Cotto, the Irish-based sports broadcaster had promised that the fight would be televised live in the early hours of Sunday morning, along with the WBC/WBO Middleweight showdown between Kelly Pavlik and Marco Antonio Rubio.
However, in the past couple of days, Setanta have removed all advertising of the Jennings bout on their website and sports channels.
On their website, a statement reads: “The Cotto-Jennings fight is not confirmed as being shown on Setanta this weekend.”
Setanta have stated that they are 'contractually unable' to show the fight, but insist they are 'working hard' to screen it.
In the meantime, Setanta's website has been besieged by angry Jennings supporters and boxing fans who have taken out subscriptions to watch the fight.
