LUKE Blackledge has claimed the Commonwealth super middleweight title for the first time in his career after a unanimous points victory over Liam Cameron at King George’s Hall in Blackburn tonight.
Blackledge dominated in his home town as he took control of the fight from the very start against Sheffield boxer Cameron.
The judges scored the bout 117-112, 116-113 and 115-114 to give Blackledge a unanimous decision as he claimed the vacant belt.
The victory saw him secure the title at the second attempt, after defeat to Rocky Fielding in Manchester in 2013.
