BLACKBURN Rovers Reserves were thrashed 7-2 tonight, despite taking the lead against Sunderland's second string.

Young Irishman Alan Judge followed up last week's hat-trick by putting Rovers in front in just the sixth minute, with his 18-yard effort reward for his hard work in the build-up.

Ross Wallace equalised on 13 minutes with a curling free kick, after Dean Winnard was adjudged to have fouled Anthony Stokes.

And Rovers found themselves behind almost immediately through Chandler.

Jamie Clarke had a shot saved as a young Rovers side searched for a second, but Sunderland stepped up a gear after that, and Wallace took advantage of defensive confusion to make it 3-1.

The home side added a fourth virtually straight from the kick-off when Stokes rounded the goalkeeper after latching onto a long ball forward.

A furious Glyn Hodges was sent to the stands after Rovers were denied a clear free kick on the edge of the box for a foul on striker Clarke.

His side did start the second half brightly but Stokes made it 5-1 with a volley, sandwiched in between chances for Judge.

Bryan Hodge pulled a goal back with a header, but only after Wallace completed his hat-trick.

Well as a rovers fan, I would at least like to know who scored our other goal, and what the team was.

Maybe if there was a penalty, or a free kick, leading to one of there goals?

can u imagine picking up the paper in the morning, and seeing the headline

Barcelona 0 Manchester Utd 0

No goals in this game, both defenses were very tight

The end.

Can't see it myself, can u Jamie?

Seems like Glyn Hodges is a bit, if not alot a tosspot.

Hughes needs to wake up and smell the coffee, and find that his mate is out of his depth even at reserve level.

We lost 7-2 what more do u wanna know.

We got our arses handed 2 us in the North East, It was cold and the back 4 didnt have their best nite.

After the match the Rovers Reserve manager had these comments to make "I thought we were magnificent tonight, we kept posesion well and controlled the game from start to finish, people will concerntrate on the seven goals scored by Sunderland, however they were mainly tap-ins and simple headers, whereas our goals were easily the best of the match, although there were less of them. I think if Sumderland are honest they will know they've been in a match tonight and will probably think twice before taking us so lightly."
