BLACKBURN Rovers have revealed that more than 17,000 tickets have already been snapped up by supporters for their eagerly-awaited FA Cup semi-final with Chelsea a week on Sunday.

Tickets for the game at Old Trafford only went on sale last Thursday, but fans have been buying them in their droves as Cup fever grips the town.

Rovers have been allocated 30,000 tickets for the match and they are now on general sale, with prices ranging from £25 to £55.

Meanwhile, Rovers are offering fans of the future the opportunity to watch live Premiership football for only £1 this weekend.

As part of a continued strategy to make football affordable for all ages, Rovers have introduced a special junior matchday price of £1 to see Aston Villa at Ewood Park on Saturday.

With the two teams battling for a top half finish, both home and away under-16 supporters will be able to take advantage of the kids for a quid' offer.

Simon Williams, Head of Sales and Marketing at Rovers, said: "The lifeline of Rovers and live football itself lies within our children's hands, it is our responsibility to encourage young people to watch Premiership games live."
