STAR forward Michael Brunton went nap as Blackburn Hawks enjoyed a perfect weekend - cruising to a double victory at the Arena.
Hawks saw off both Whitley Bay and Kingston Jets as they kicked off February with a bang.
Whitley Bay were the first victims, thrashed 10-0 by a rampant Hawks side - Brunton storming in with a hat-trick.
A much-depleted Whitley side were never in contention and the match was over as a contest within the first 20 minutes.
Brunton opened the scoring in the first minute, placing a shot beneath the keeper. Rick Bentham then exchanged passes with Ollie Lomax, before lifting the puck high into the roof of the net to double the lead.
Another well-worked passing move involving Bentham saw Brunton finish in style, a fine goal closely followed by another from Sam Dunford.

Two further goals early in the second period from Craig Ainscough and the lively Bentham put the game well beyond the visitors.
More of the same followed in the final period, David Miekle, Lance Derbyshire and Antony Kinder clocking up further strikes, before MVP Brunton rounded off the scoring with a sublime wrist shot into the corner.
A much closer contest against Kingston the following day saw Hawks run out eventual 7-5 victors.
The home side got off to a slow start falling two behind early on, but pulled one back through Wayne Slater. However, the Jets restored their two-goal advantage before the first interval.
Hawks sprang to life in the second period with Brunton finding the net after just 10 seconds, but, once again, Kingston replied with a strike of their own. Goals from Harry Hall and Lomax briefly drew Hawks level, but the defiant Jets regained the lead.
The visiting netminder denied the Blackburn forwards on several occasions, but he was eventually beaten by Derbyshire to set up a pulsating last 20 minutes with the scores locked at 5-5.
And Brunton and Derbyshire both grabbed their second strikes of the game to seal a fantastic result for Hawks.
