TREBLE UP: Aaron Davies celebrates his hat-trick against Kingston Jets
Aaron Davies was the hat-trick hero as Blackburn Hawks went goal crazy in the English Cup.
The local ice hockey aces found their scoring touch in sensational fashion to beat Kingston Jets 9-1 on Sunday night.
Davies and Richard Bentham got the scoring underway to give Hawks a two-goal advantage at the end of the first period.
Hawks capitalised on a five-on-three advantage after the interval with Chris Arnone and Ryan O'Reilly getting on the score sheet, to increase the lead to 4-0.
Good work from Dave Meikle added a fifth with Davies and Bentham adding to their tallies to compound Kingston's misery and leave it 7-0 by the end of the second period.
The final period brought a second goal from Meikle and saw Davies round off his hat-trick before an unfortunate rib injury to defenceman Arnone allowed Kingston in for a consolation goal.
