* The 10th Anniversary Bleasdale Circle Fell Race takes place on Saturday at 11am from Bleasdale Parish Hall near Preston. Race distance is five miles with 1250 feet of climb and it could be an alternative for those who missed a place in the oversubscribed Noonstone on the same day. * Wigan Phoenix are the hosts for the Standish Hall Trail Race on Saturday at 2.30pm. Race distance is very approximately 10K. Registration is at the Britannia Hotel, Almond Brook Road, WN6 0SR (near M6 J27). Changing facilities are limited and the course is completely off road on bridle paths and woodland trails.

Pendle Forest Orienteers are starting a weekly club night in Rossendale at St James the Less Primary School, Rawtenstall, BB4 8SU on Wednesdays, from 6.30pm to 8pm starting on February 3. Club coaches will lead activities designed to help learn map reading skills as well as to keep fit. No previous experience is necessary and the nights will be suitable for all fitness levels and abilities.
