Paul Bradshaw has helped the University of Wales in Cardiff to the bronze medal in the 4x400 metres relay at the British Universities (BUSA) Championships.

The Blackburn Harrier clocked 47.7 seconds for his leg at Bedford to demonstrate his impressive form.

He was one of the favourites for the individual 800m and won his heat then the semi-final, the latter in 1:52.0.

Unfortunately, he misjudged his pacing in the final, and intending to reach the bell in 53 seconds to run the sting out of the fast finishers, he went through in 55.

Paul, always his worst critic, was far from happy with fifth place in 1:51.3.

Club mate Matt Wood enjoyed a new experience at the games, being Team Manager for the winning Loughborough University squad.

Meanwhile, Nicola Breaks of Hyndburn AC and Loughborough qualified for two finals, the high jump with 1.60 metres and the javelin where she was eighth with a best of 33.68metres.
