CLAYTON-le-Moors Harrier Kevin Davies was the pick of East Lancashire’s runners at Monday’s Central Lancashire Half Marathon.
Davies was the leading over 50 male at the event in the beautiful rural setting of Catforth, near Preston, clocking one hour, 26 minutes and 22 seconds to finish 33rd overall.
Club-mates Ian Livesey (1:20:55) and Alex Cran (1:24:02) came home 13th and 19th respectively, with the latter fourth in the over 40s category.
Other local finishers include Chorley Harriers’ Martin Quinn (34th in 1:26:36), Clayton’s Michael Hogan (61st in 1:30:41), Blackburn Road Runner Shafiq Khan (74th in 1:32:07) and Brian Wildman of Clayton (98th in 1:36:17).
The race was won by Paul Lockwood of Wakefield Harriers in 1:11:39, with Ben Johnson of Southport and Waterloo AC in second. The first lady was Joasia Zakrzewski of Dumfries RC finished seventh overall in 1:18:14.
