l Rossendale Harriers will be holding their Presentation Evening on Friday at 7pm from the Rugby Club at Marl Pits.

There will be a pie and pea supper and disco afterwards and all free! There will be junior awards for fell running, track and field and cross country as well as special awards.

For the first time there will also be a Senior Athlete of the Year Award as well as prizes for the Road Running Championship and the Fell Grand Prix Series.

l The Presentation Evening for the SE Lancs Cross Country League will be held at the RMI Club at Horwich on Friday Evening.

l The Half Tour of Pendle is on Saturday at 11.00am from Barley. Race distance is nine miles including 2250 feet of climb and fall.

This event is pre-entry only so check with the organiser for possible late availability before travelling, namely Barrie Walmsley 01254 248025.

l The fifth round of the Mid Lancs Cross Country League is on Saturday at Thorncliffe School, Hawcoat, Barrow, LA14 5QP.

The races are open to members of affiliated clubs or guests who can enter for a small fee until 30 minutes before their race. Start times and approximate distances are: U11 girls 12.30pm 2km, U11 boys 12.45pm 2km, U13 girls 1pm 2.5km, U15 girls and U13 boys 1.20pm 3km, U15 boys and U17 women 1.40 pm 4km, U17 men, junior senior and veteran women 2pm 6km, junior senior and veteran men 2.30pm 9km-10km. Directions, a location map and a course map are all available at www.midlancs.org.uk l Pendle Forest Orienteers are staging a series of local events again this spring which are suitable for families, beginners and experienced orienteers.

This Saturday’s offering is at Towneley Park, Burnley with entry to the site being opposite Towneley colliery. The timetable for every event is identical with each being on a Saturday with registration from 10am to noon and start times from 10.30am until noon. At all the events there will be a choice of White, Yellow and Orange courses where the colours denote the degree of difficulty, with a different Technical course also available at each venue.

Electronic punching is being used, and you can hire a ‘dibber’ for a nominal sum of £1 (free for juniors).

l The Blackpool Stanley Park 10K Road Race is on Sunday at 11am.

The two lap course starts and finishes on the running track and is run almost entirely within the boundaries of the park. Entries are limited to 300 so online entry on John Schofield’s site could be wise.

l The Haworth Hobble or Wuthering Hike is on Saturday March 13 and must be entered in advance.

The race is 33 miles long necessitating an early 8am start from Haworth Community Centre.

Refreshments will be dispensed along the way, so take a mug as well as full kit. You can enter solo or in pairs. For more see the Keighley and Craven club site or call Brett Weedon on 07970 206003.

The Annual Roddlesorth Roller and Daffodil Doddle take place at Abbey Village on Sunday March 14. The senior multi terrain Roller at 11.00 am covers six miles of tracks through Roddlesworth Plantations.

The two mile Daffodil Doddle Road Race for under 17's has a limit of 200 and it starts at 12.30 pm. Pre-entry for the junior race is advisable as generally the race is over subscribed.
