ONE of the most eagerly anticipated races on the Clayton-le-Moors Harriers calendar takes place on Saturday.
The Stan Bradshaw Pendle Round, named after the club’s legendary late long distance runner Stan Bradshaw, gets under way at 11am from Barley Village Hall.
Covering 10.4 miles and a 1,936ft climb, the course is not considered suitable for novices in bad weather and requires competitors to have navigation skills and local knowledge. Entries have now closed for the race, which has a limit of 300.
Rob Hope, of Pudsey and Bramley AC, won last year’s race in one hour, six minutes and 10 seconds.
