BLACKBURN Harrier Chris Davies has enjoyed a splendid year on the road, and he produced another five-star performance, posting a personal best to take third place at the Windmill 10k at Lytham St Annes.

The race was won by Michael Hunt, from Trafford AC, in 35 minutes 40 seconds, with Davies home in 35 minutes 48 minutes.

Nick Gaskell, who represents Clayton le Moors Harriers, also clocked a personal best – claiming second spot.

Jason Cook, starring for Blackburn Road Runners, was also on the personal best trail, clocking 36 minutes and 35 seconds.

Alex Cran, Clayton le Moors, was another with boasting a personal best time as he finished in 23rd place in 38 minutes and 39 seconds.

Shafiq Khan posted 38 minutes 59 seconds, a personal best for the Blackburn Road Runner, while Mark Fawcett, running for Trawden, also fired a PB with 40 minutes and 10 seconds.

Meanwhile, Blackburn Harriers’ Beckie Taylor was first lady home at the Ras Rhobell Fawr Fell Race in Wales.

Competing against a strong field, Beckie was 18th overall.

Meanwhile, Blackburn Harriers stage their annual general meeting and presentation evening at Mill Hill Working Men’s Club on Friday, November 22.

Damian Talbot, the executive member for Culture, Leisure and Young People for Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, will present the awards.

Anyone wanting to attend can pay on the door, with entry costing £2 for juniors, £4 for seniors and £10 for families.
