EAST Lancashire had a presence among a 553 runner-strong field in the Windmill 10k race in Lytham on Sunday.
Clayton Le Moors Harriers’ Mark Taylor was the top finisher from the region as he completed the course in 40 minutes and 41 seconds to finish the men’s race in 12th.
His Clayton team mate Stephen Biscomb finished third in the M55 race, while Brian Wildman came home sixth in the M45 category.
Howard Ashworth was Accrington Road Runners’ first athlete across the line, coming 10th in the M40 race, while team mate Keith Robinson was 11th in the M45 race. Also from Accrington, Michael Hartley finished 31st in the M40 race, Catheryn McDermott came seventh in the F40 race, Colette Mallabourn was 10th in the same category with Gail Robinson 12th, while Shirley Addy was 13th in the F50 race.
Blackburn Road Runners’ Michael Moran was ninth in the M50 race, with team mate Christopher Davies finishing 47th in the main men’s race.
Also from Blackburn, David Short was 18th in the M45 category, Chris Ball a place behind in 19th, Sadikah Patel came 41st in the women’s race, with Kate Fenton finishing 44th.
Chorley’s Jason Riley finished the men’s race in 57th position.
