Stanley grabbed a well-deserved equaliser with just five minutes to go before the break here at the Fraser Eagle Stadium.
Reds boss John Coleman made two changes from the defeat against Hereford at the weekend, with Sean Webb and Shaun Whalley replacing Mark Roberts and Andy Mangan.
But, despite some early pressure, the home side fell behind when Matthew Blinkhorn headed in an Adam Yates cross.
Stanley could have fallen even further behind minutes later had Blinkhorn shown the same sort of composure, but the striker blasted high over the bar.
The Reds, however, continued to press and they were rewarded when Ian Craney's driven free-kick was deflected into the path of Darran Kempson and he poked the ball home.
