John Coleman happy for Accrington Stanley to reach 50
CHEERS: John Coleman salutes the Stanley fans
CHEERS: John Coleman salutes the Stanley fans

STANLEY boss John Coleman was a happy man after seeing his side burst through the elusive 50-point barrier on Saturday.

The Reds eased to a 3-1 win, thanks to a Shaun Pejic own goal and strikes from Peter Cavanagh and Shaun Whalley.

The result saw Stanley's points total rise to 51 - their best since returning to the Football League - and Coleman was clearly delighted as his side continues to improve.

He said: "It's been our Holy Grail now, the 50 points, for the last few weeks and we're disappointed that it's taken so long to get.

"But now we have got it, we've got to try and make it 54. That would be a pleasing end to the season."

"It's like a golfer who hasn't had a good round and, all of a sudden, he gets two birdies on 17 and 18 and goes into the clubhouse feeling content.

"That's the way we've got end the season."

despite my criticism well done John Coleman..looking at the big picture u have kept us in the league for 2 seasons now. Its just a shame most of the players brought in are not very good, u have little tactical sense, u dont pick best team, and the defence is c**p. Have a go for the play-offs next time round and i'll be happy

1st year back in the football league - exciting games, we scored lots of goals, ec.
This season - boring, lots of goaless games, 5-3-2 formations, 1 striker since roscoe left, craney is not a striker.
