CHORLEY boss Garry Flitcroft believes no team will want to face his in-form side at the moment as they look to cement a place in the Conference North play-offs tonight.

The Magpies host Guiseley and will move above their Yorkshire rivals into third place if they can make it four wins in a row.

Flitcroft’s side have scored 11 goals in winning their last three games, and they put down a marker to their rivals on Saturday, thrashing fellow play-off chasers Tamworth 6-0.

With six games to go, four teams including Chorley are locked on 63 points, with one of those sides set to miss out on the end-of-season battle for the second promotion spot to the Conference Premier.

Chorley have already secured the Lancashire Challenge Trophy this season, but Flitcroft said the goal remained to move within one promotion of the Football League.

“No team will fancy coming to play us here,” he said. “We’ve lost twice here all season, our record is very good.

“The lads are brimming with confidence and confidence is a massive thing in football.

“They’re going out knowing they can get a result in every game they play at the minute.

“I’ve said to them all along that our goal for this season was to get promoted again. We’re the team in form at the minute, we’re getting the results and the wins and Saturday was a good scalp.”

Guiseley head to Victory Park fresh having not played at the weekend, with their opponents North Ferriby United in action at Wembley instead as they stunned Wrexham to win the FA Trophy.

But Flitcroft has backed his side to keep their momentum going against their fresher opponents.

“When you’re winning games you don’t feel tired, you want to play in every game you can,” he added.

“Obviously they’ve got an advantage because they’ve had no game at the weekend and they’re going to be fresh, but on a Tuesday night coming here with our record at home, my lads will be bursting to get out and play again.”

Meanwhile, Flitcroft was full of praise for James Dean’s performance in the weekend win, after the striker played through the pain barrier, although he is now a doubt for tonight’s crucial clash with a leg injury.

“James Dean was outstanding all game with his hold-up play and he ran the two centre backs ragged,” said the Magpies boss of his striker.
