FOR the second game running Rovers missed the chance to move within two points off the play-off places as they were held to a disappointing goalless home draw by basement boys Yeovil.

The closest Gary Bowyer’s toothless side went to scoring was in the fourth minute when Jason Lowe fired a low 30-yard shot against the post.

After that Jordan Rhodes and captain Grant Hanley saw headed opportunities come and go.

But in truth Rovers, who remain 10th and four points off the top six going into their final three games of the campaign, could be playing now and still not have scored.

And to round off an afternoon to forget left-back Tommy Spurr came off with a groin injury which could rule him out of the Bank Holiday Monday trip to Birmingham City (3pm).

Rovers boss Bowyer said: “We looked a little bit tired, a little bit nervy and we just didn’t quite have enough in the final third to win the game.

“Our players know they’ve not hit the standards of the last couple of months but we go again.”
