CORRY Evans and Dickson Etuhu have been ruled out of today’s trip to Sheffield Wednesday (3.07pm).

But Blackburn Rovers boss Gary Bowyer hopes the midfield duo will be fit to return for the Good Friday clash at home to Yeovil Town.

Evans missed Tuesday’s 2-0 home win over QPR with a groin injury while Etuhu limped off after the final whistle after coming on as an 85th-minute substitute.

The Nigeria international, who also made a late cameo off the bench in last Saturday’s 2-0 home victory over Ipswich Town, has damaged his hamstring.

The fresh setback comes after he spent the best part of five months on the sidelines with an ankle ligament injury he sustained in an accidental training ground clash with Leon Best.

Bowyer said: “Dickson has a slight hamstring which is very disappointing as he has worked ever so hard to get back.

“It’s shocking and a real shame for him as every time he looks to have overcome one injury unfortunately for him and us he is dealt another blow.

“But we don’t think it is as bad as what we first thought so hopefully he should be back in contention for the Yeovil game along with Corry, who has trained lightly today.”

Bowyer, meanwhile, refused to comment on the immediate future of DJ Campbell.

Millwall have cut short the striker’s loan spell after his rearrest last week as part of a National Crime Agency (NCA) investigation into alleged spot-fixing in football.

But Rovers will not be permitted to play Campbell in any of their final five games as his registration remains with the Lions until the end of the season.

That leaves Bowyer having to decide whether to introduce the 32-year-old back into his squad at Brockhall.

Unlike the idiot above my comment, I hope Etuhu can get over his injury mare and actually contribute to the team. I don't comment on here too much, due to the nature of most of the drivel written on these pages. It's about time the L.E.T disabled peoples opportunity to comment as, about 98% of the time, none of it is either constructive or read worthy. For someone "45 years and over" to come out with such childish nonsense, riles me up big time. And this person isn't the only culprit. Anyway, as for todays game, good luck to the Rovers. Going into it in good form. Today is all about the 96. We will walk with you. But as soon as that whistle blows, it's all about the three points. COYB.

Etuhu is unfortunate to be tarred by the Steve Kean brush. You have to admit that he hasn't earned the huge salary he is being paid (reputedly around £30K per week). Also he didn't exactly tear up trees the last time he came back from injury. I think all Rovers fans would welcome back the player who made his name at Fulham but it is understandable that fans are critical of a player who doesn't justify his huge salary.

You moron. Etuhu has stolen a living for nearly 2 years and people aren't allowed to be unhappy about it? And today us either all about the 86 or all about the 3 points. Can't be both. Not possible.

If most of the comments were worthy of a read, then I'd agree with you, Darwener, but for the most part, it is used for Neanderthal name calling and negative slurs. We all know where we are. What is the point of slagging off a guy who hasn't been able to play due to injury? Yes, he's on a lot of money, but that's football. He is a source of hatred due to him being a part of the Kean/Murphy/Orr era. I'd rather he be given a chance to get back into the team and show his worth. He was the only player who looked decent under Henning Berg. This season, has seen us gain a bit more pride. We have a manager who loves the club and is slowly moulding his team. Like he said earlier, at this stage of every one of the last 4 seasons, we have either been involved in relegation, or the threat has been there. So, progress is being made. All teams have ups and downs. Our fans are the most fickle I've ever come across. The rot of the last four seasons stopped this year. I'm pretty sure most people who use these comment pages would much rather have an adult debate about the good, bad, indifferent, rather than trawling through hundreds of childish, negative comments regarding our players and our manager. and people from Burnley. Get a grip.

Jim, you've pretty much just proved my point. Calling me a moron? Can I just make you aware, the football World will be mourning 96 supporters today, not 86. And, as you believe we have one footballer stealing a wage in this country, I'm pretty sure it'd anger you if another 22 didn't put their heart into it today. I'll not lower myself to name calling. Not my style.

I do agree with you re the childish rude and offensive comments on these pages. We could well do without them. But it is the nature of the beast. If you do not want to read them then just pass them by. Some are witty, even from so called Burnley fans. It is the nasty sort that need weeding out.
As for the Game today. Once the Hillsborough remembrance is over then it is all systems go for a chance of three points. No use in sitting back, just go out there and attack.

Happy to debate football bob, in my opinion when Etuhu did play, and he clocked up something like 20 games last season, he had probably two good games, most of the time he was totally ineffective and at times looked downright disinterested.

He came to the club with a big salary, a premiership reputation and has done very little to justify either. You cannot ignore the circumstances under which he came to the club, under Kean, and with Murphy, and the time he has spent injured since, there is a question in my mind about his commitment to the club.

Tend to agree with you but calling someone an idiot sort of knocks the high ground from under your feet, 45 was only expressing an opinion many of us have voiced over the last 12 months or so.

In Etuhu's defence though when he has come on in the last couple of games he has looked much better and more committed than the last time we saw him even though he obviously isn't match fit.

One thing for certain he is a class player and if GB has managed to turn him round that will be a massive benefit for us either on the pitch or in the transfer market.

So lets hope we do see a few more little cameo appearances between now and the end of the season.
