Chorley suffer Olympic defeat
9:56am Monday 17th March 2014 in Sport
The Olympic challenge once again proved too daunting for the Magpies as the hosts completed a quick-fire league double over the league leaders to throw the title race wide open.
Chorley still lead the table by three points, following Skelmersdale ’s defeat at Blyth, but the chasing pack of AFC Fylde, Worksop and FC United are now rapidly closing in.
The Magpies finished the game with only nine men after centre back Keil O’Brien and full back Kieran Walmsley were both shown straight red cards to leave manager Garry Flitcroft fuming and facing an urgent need to recruit defenders before the transfer deadline.
Ahmed Obeng’s 13th goal strike gave Rushall victory.
