BRIAN Hall joined Burnley in 1977 in the twighlight of his career having previously made over 150 appearances under Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley at Liverpool.
It was clear that Hall was past his best and the two years he spent at Turf Moor were far from memorable, apart from one day in 1979.
That day was April 14, the last time Burnley enjoyed a victory over their bitter rivals.
Simon Garner had put Rovers in front at Ewood Park and they looked set to avenge their defeat at Turf Moor earlier in the season.
Tony Morley equalised before Hall plundered the winner late on to stun the home crowd.
That was one of only three goals Hall scored for the Clarets before leaving in 1980 and going into teaching.
He returned to Liverpool as their head of PR in 1991 and remained there before retiring in 2012.
