BLACKBURN Rovers Ladies will travel to Reading in the fourth round of the FA Women’s Cup after a second half hat-trick from Evie Manning secured a 3-0 win over Middlesbrough.

Gemma Donnelly's side clinched a sixth straight win despite being level at half time in the home tie, which was switched to the 3G pitch at Curzon Ashton.

Nichol Forster twice went close to scoring in the opening period and she then laid on a chance for Manning to turn over the ball over the bar early in the second half.

But Manning did break the deadlock in the 54th minute as she outpaced the Middlesbrough defence and slotted home, before netting again four minutes later - this time after good work from Zara Musker and Helen Seed.

Rovers’ number nine then completed her hat-trick after latching on to another through ball, to confirm a trip to Reading on March 16.

Assistant manager Amanda Goodwin said: “Evie’s hat-trick will make the headlines, but it would be unfair to single any player out, because it was a real team effort.

“The atmosphere around the club at the minute is excellent, players and staff are really enjoying themselves.”

* Rovers Ladies will face Preston in the final of the Lancashire FA Women’s Challenge Cup. Preston beat Morecambe 5-0 at the weekend to book their place in the final, which will be held at the LFA headquarters in Leyland.
