GARY Bowyer is holding talks with Venky’s in Pune about potential additions to his squad after Blackburn Rovers’ January clear-out reached double figures.

Bowyer is in India for a rescheduled meeting with Rovers’ owners and among the subjects on the agenda is possible recruitment in the final days of the transfer window after DJ Campbell and Ruben Rochina departed on loan.

Rovers are allowing fringe players to depart and Campbell has joined Millwall on a temporary deal until the end of the season, with Rochina moving to Rayo Vallecano in his native Spain.

A deal has also been agreed for Bradley Orr to join Toronto on loan until the end of 2014.

That follows previous loan exits for Alan Judge, Alex Marrow, Yann Songo’o, Jordan Slew, Kellen Daly and John O’Sullivan this month.

Bruno Ribeiro moved to Brazilian side Clube Atletico Linense on a free transfer, while Rovers also allowed Anthony O’Connor to stay on loan at Torquay.

David Goodwillie and Leon Best are still among those who could leave before the end of January, as the club try to reduce their wage bill and fall in line with the Championship’s incoming Financial Fair Play regulations.

But Bowyer is looking at potential signings and is speaking to Venky’s about what funds may be available.

The Rovers boss had been due to travel to Pune last week for a regular catch-up meeting with the owners, but the visit was rescheduled because of the FA Cup third round replay at Manchester City.

Bowyer instead flew out on Sunday night, not accompanied by managing director Derek Shaw on this occasion.

Campbell has linked up with his former Leicester City and Blackpool boss Ian Holloway at Millwall, after talks between the two clubs and the players’ representatives.

Negotiations had taken place about the percentage of Campbell’s sizeable salary that Millwall would be prepared to take on.

The 32-year-old, who has 18 months left on his Rovers contract, did not feature in Rovers’ 4-1 defeat at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

He has now flown out to link up with his new Millwall team-mates at a warm weather training camp in Portugal, but under the terms of the loan deal will not be eligible to face Rovers when the two sides meet on March 29.

Bowyer said: “With his ankle injury in pre-season and the arrival of Rudy Gestede, DJ has found his chances limited and at this stage of his career he needs to be playing games.

“The attraction of Millwall for DJ is that he can go back to London, where his family are from and he’ll be reunited with Ian Holloway. The pair have a lot of time for each other.

“Both parties felt that it was the right move and it will be good for him to get some games under his belt.”

Campbell is currently on police bail until April after his arrest in December by National Crime Agency officers probing spot-fixing allegations in football matches.

The striker has not been charged with any offence and had since made four appearances for Rovers.

Rochina will be unveiled by Rayo Vallecano today after moving to the La Liga side for the rest of the season.

The 22-year-old, who also has 18 months left on his deal at Ewood, had struggled for regular football at Rovers since returning from a dislocated shoulder.

The Spaniard’s move to Rayo Vallecano is with a view to a permanent deal, but Bowyer says he will be watching the player’s performances closely.

Bowyer said: “Playing in his native Spain appeals to Ruben, so we’ll monitor his progress.”

A loan deal has been agreed to loan Orr to Ryan Nelsen’s Toronto.

The loan is for the entire 2014 MLS season, which runs from March until the end of the year.
