BLACKBURN Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson has retained his place in the starting line-up for today’s visit of struggling Doncaster to Ewood Park – while there is a recall for top scorer Jordan Rhodes.
Robinson, after 13 months on the sidelines, made his long-awaited comeback in last Saturday’s 1-1 FA Cup draw at home to Manchester City.
And his impressive performance in the thrilling third-round tie has convinced Rovers boss Gary Bowyer to stick with the former England number one – instead of bringing back Simon Eastwood – for the clash with a Donny side who are on an eight-game winless run in all competitions.
Rhodes, rested against City after making 23 consecutive starts, returns in place of Chris Taylor, who has been troubled by a toe injury.
Bowyer has made no other changes.
In contrast Doncaster, who are managed by former Rovers striker Paul Dickov, have made seven changes to the team which started their shock FA Cup loss to League One basement boys Stevenage.
Dickov has handed starts to new signings Abdoulaye Meite and Richie Wellens.
Rovers: Robinson, Henley, Dann, Hanley, Spurr, Cairney, Lowe, Williamson, Marshall, Gestede, Rhodes. Subs: Eastwood, Kilgallon, Dunn, Campbell, Taylor, Rochina, Morris.
Doncaster: Turnbull, Stevens, McCullough, Khumalo, Meite, De Val, Wellens, Husband, Forrester, Coppinger, Brown. Subs: Maxted, Furman, Duffy, Cotterill, Wakefield, Bennett, Peterson.
