BLACKBURN Rovers have completed the double signing of loan stars Tom Cairney and Rudy Gestede for undisclosed fees.

In what is a massive boost for Rovers supporters Gestede and, in particular, Cairney have penned permanent deals after their loan spells from Cardiff City and Hull City respectively ran out after yesterday’s excellent 2-1 victory at Leeds United in the Championship.

Cairney set-up both of Rovers’ goals in their first win at Elland Road since April 2003.

It was the classy 22-year-old midfielder’s 24th appearance for Gary Bowyer’s side.

During his initial six-month loan from Hull Cairney scored two goals and established himself as a firm fans’ favourite.

Gestede joined Rovers on an emergency loan from Cardiff in November.

The powerful 25-year-old striker has made six appearances for Rovers and netted his first goal for the club in the victory over Leeds.

Both Gestede and Cairney have signed three-and-a-half year contracts, tying them to the club until the summer of 2017.
