Stanley Blog: Beattie's luck must change soon
James Beattie must be wondering just what he has done wrong in a former life to deserve the luck he is enduring at the moment.
Accrington Stanley created plenty of chances and thoroughly deserved their 1-0 lead given to them by the ever improving Kayode Odejayi.
However before the break a dismayed Kayode was given a red card at the assistant referee’s insistence much to the annoyance of the Reds bench.
Despite the heartbreak of the 85th minute Dons equaliser, I am more than happy with our performance.
To battle for the second half with 10 men and still create chances was a superb effort and on another day we would have gathered three points.
This weekend we take on Oxford United, a team we have struggled to beat in the past and they are flying high at the moment sitting in third place.
I actually don’t think Beattie will change his game plan too much for Saturday, given the great team performance at the Dons there is a real sense among the majority of Stanley fans that we have turned a corner.
If we can have just a tad of good luck to go along with the team spirit Beattie has fostered we will soon be climbing the league.
