8:06am Monday 23rd September 2013 in Football
NELSON made it 18 goals in only three games as they came from 2-0 down to win at Consett in the second qualifying round of the FA Vase.
The Admirals have been on an incredible run of results after winning 8-4 and 6-1 in their previous two games.
Boss Mark Fell had spoken of his desire for 1-0 wins from now on but his side played out another thrilling match in the north east.
Consett were ahead in the eighth minute when Michael Mackay converted a penalty following a handball.
Luke Sullivan then made it 2-0 in the 15th minute but Ritchie Allen pulled a goal back five minutes later as he latched on to a header back to the keeper and lofted the ball into the net.
Nelson were then level after only 22 minutes as Liam Boswell scored.
Sullivan’s second of the game put Consett back in front 10 minutes after half time.
But the game turned again in the 67th minute as Consett keeper Jack Norton was sent off for a professional foul on Allen.
Defender Anthony Lund went in goal for the hosts but Peter Wright set up Allen for the equaliser with 10 minutes left.
And Wright was on hand to score the winner in the final minute to put Nelson into the next round.
