FULL TIME: Blackburn Rovers 4 Bolton Wanderers 1
4:52pm Saturday 31st August 2013 in Football
BLACKBURN Rovers made it nine goals in two games as they thrashed Lancashire rivals Bolton this afternoon.
David Dunn collected Josh King's pass and beat Alex Baptiste, David Wheater and Zat Knight before slotting a composed finish into the corner in the 25th minute to put Rovers ahead.
Two minutes it was 2-0 as Dunn found Jordan Rhodes, who went past Knight and beat keeper Adam Bogdan with a low shot.
Debut boy Ben Marshall almost scored a third, as his effort was tipped on to the post by Bogdan.
The keeper then saved from Rhodes but Bolton pulled a goal back on the stroke of half time as Jay Spearing's pass allowed Alex Baptiste to fire home.
Bolton came close to a leveller early in the second half when Todd Kane had to clear off the line from David Ngog.
But it was 3-1 in the 69th minute as Bolton could only half clear and substitute Corry Evans fired in a superb 25-yard volley that took a slight deflection and found the corner.
A fourth goal arrived seven minutes from time as Kane charged down Wheater's clearance and squared for Rhodes to convert from close range.
The victory follows Rovers' 5-2 win over Barnsley seven days earlier.
