Pashley: "It's been a very good day"
9:07pm Saturday 20th October 2012 in Sport
TERRY Pashley described his winning start to life as Burnley's caretaker manager as “one of the best days I've had for a long time”.
The 55-year-old youth coach punched the air at the final whistle, after Charlie Austin's 16th goal of the season was enough to earn three points against rivals Blackpool.
Lee Grant executed a superb double save in the second half to preserve an important clean sheet – their first since beating Bolton on the opening day of the season.
"It's been a very good day. One of the best days I've had for a long time,” smiled Pashley, who took charge of first team affairs after Eddie Howe completed his return to Bournemouth last week.
"To be fair I felt quite calm - I just tried to emphasise what we're trying to do. You can't do too much in four days, but we've got something to build on now.
"We had to weather the storm but credit to the players, they dug in and deserved the win.
"Charlie Austin's goalscoring record over the last few weeks is second to none. But it's not just the goals, he's a fantastic team player."

Total = 70,708 / 5 = 14,141
Hardly the 22,500 you keep bleating on about.
Burnley's first five home games this season:
18,407
11,413
10,979
11,192
12,122
Total = 64,113 / 5 = 12,823
14,141 - 12,823 = 1,318
That's how big a club you are, a mere 1,318 ave more in attendance than us. Now who is in a state of hallucination silly bstrd?

can anyone explain how the attendance was the lowest in the whole champioinship? I often hear that Burnley is a massive club with the best fans in the whole country? Plenty of bigger clubs you can play for Charlie even in the championship, ha!

22,500 you say, well let's see. You've played five home games so far this season and your attendance are as followed:
13,562
13,935
12,772
13,405
17,034
Total = 70,708 / 5 = 14,141

Burnley's attendances in their first year out of the Premier League, through the first 5 games.....seems like a better comparison
17496
15516
15509
14540
14458
Total 77519
Average (mean) = 15503.8
Hmmm, looks a little larger than the aforementioned Blackburn numbers.
But hey, let's not let facts get in the way shall we.

"But hey, let's not let facts get in the way shall we"......no let's not, hmmm which season was it that average attendances were larger at Burnley than Blackburn? oh yes when we were still paying £ shillings and pence on the turnstiles...dream on, live in your own imaginary world, even bournemouth fans now know how small you are.

When you compare Burnley's first year in the championship after being relegated, (like Blackburn are this year) Burnley have a slightly higher attendance than Blackburn, another fact.
"When they were fighting for premier league survival and really needed their "army" of supporters to get behind them, all they got were empty seats" .....the inbred accusation was referring to LAST SEASON i.e. when Rovers gates were 22500 av.

This isn't opinion, it isn't hyperbole, it is simple plainly stated fact.
If you cannot grasp this then there is truly no hope for you.
