HALF-TIME: Burnley 1, Blackpool 0

CHARLIE Austin's 16th goal of the season has given Burnley a slender half-time advantage on derby day.

The top scorer towered to send a downwards header past Matt Gilks, after climbing to meet Ross Wallace's excellent cross in the 19th minute.

Austin would have opened the Clarets' account earlier against Blackpool, but for a superb save by Gilks, who made himself big to deny the striker's precision volley.

Blackpool have offered little in the way of a response.

Their best effort at goal came from Tom Ince, whose left foot shot from distance was still comfortably wide of the angle.

Junior Stanislas came close to doubling the Clarets' lead just before the break, after sprinting away from Alex Baptiste, but Gilks stuck out an important arm to divert his chipped effort.
