Black frustrated with point

ERIC Black admits his Blackburn Rovers side have to do much better after seeing them held to a 1-1 draw at Derby County.

Rovers' caretaker boss was satisfied with his side's first half performance as Jordan Rhodes fired them ahead but was frustrated at a poor second half display.

Theo Robinson's 89th minute strike earned Derby a point and Black admits Rovers only have themselves to blame.

He said: "As the game unfolded we got deeper and deeper. I am really disappointed we didn't win the game.

"I thought the first half performance was okay, there were decent signs, but the seond half we dropped into that lull.

"It is very, very frustrating. I thought with the players we had on the pitch, we should have won the game and I'm extremely disappointed we haven't.

"We dropped and dropped, didn't retain possession of the ball and all of a sudden pressure comes on.

"We tried to change it to get further up but it didn't happen. In the end the obvious happens. I am really, really disappointed because we have to be better than that."

Instead of chasing (and paying compensation for) an unproven mercenary in Tim Sherwood, it is time the club cleared the decks of Black and Hendry and employed someone with experience and proof of success. The players aren't fit enough and haven't been since Big Sam was sacked. Either get someone like Hughes, McCarthy (or someone of that ilk) or employ Shearer with Iain Dowie. I am sure any of those names mentioned can get the team firing on all cylinders. If this doesn't get resolved within the next couple of days then supporters should boycott all home games till something changes.

Fair play to Mr Black. He at least tells it like it is. Kean would have milked this like it was 3 points. We need a more balanced midfield. Pushes too deep due to lack of fitness and speed. This again shows how important the right choice is made and sooner rather than later. This is a tight league and it will be all the way through. We are nowhere near out of it. Come on Venkys. Get this right.

We are going backwards again. There are teams out there, who seem to know what they are doing. We did in the days of Sam Allardyce - look at his teams result again. The stupidity of those in charge (above Eric Black) is staggering. I wish that I wasn't bothered - like Derek Shaw, Paul Agnew, those that put them there.

Black just stating the obvious - lack of passion and will to win - Black and Hendry as well as some of the players must take the blame - if the Manager/backroom staff aren't good enough then no matter how good or bad the players the results will be as they are 'POOR'!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For gods sake Singh/Venkeys take some decisive action before its to late and get shut of Black and Hendry and bring in a professional team with experience and a will to win otherwise put the club up for sale and let someone take us forward.

The team are not fit enough both mentally and physically; they need to train a lot harder. The team do not keep possession which is fundamentally what football is all about. I expect an appointment this week of a proven manager with a quality track record. In my view Graeme Souness has the toughness which is required to drag this club back to the Premier League.

How can EB still be on the BRFC shortlist ?? - 3 points from 4 games and a poxy 2 goals in all that time (I'm sure he's doing his best to make his best buddy, Kean look like Sir Alex).

22 days since the odious cretin finally departed yet the club is a complete and utter shambles and we don't seem any nearer to a manager today than we were 3 weeks ago.

How much longer do we have to put up with Venkys mis-management of our club - they NEVER seem to learn.

I said before the season started that I would be happy with mid table mediority and I'll stick with that - does anyone out there seriously believe our on/off field management is anywhere good enough to get us near the top 2 promotion spots - NO CHANCE.

The players we have bought over the last 2 years have been (generally) overpriced FLOPS and we need a MASSIVE clear out in Jan/Summer of all the deadwood.
Infact the squad is SO crap if I was incharge I would listen to offers for any player in our over-bloated sqaud apart from Hanley, Best and Rhodes - the rest (for me) can jog on as they are either over priced flops (Formica, Goodwillie, Rochina, SV, SD), past it (Murphy, Dunn, MGP, Robinson, Gomes) or never beens (like the dozen or so Portugese muppets, Orr and Ribero etc). Total CRAP !!

Wow that is extreme, will we win promotion with three players? By the way Your opinion of Hanley is way off. He is average and a goal against manu doesn't mean he's ace. defensively he makes too many basic errors. We need a Robbie savage, someone to drive the play and influence them around. Kean gave us lily savage in Murphy before he departed. They're just not fit enough. Even Dunn said pre season was pedestrian. We need a new fitness coach and new manager. Then we will have a better idea of what we have that can cope in this division.

Nigel Clough reckoned we looked a class side the first half and good value for the lead we had. But then we backed-off and let Derby get back in it like we have done against other teams so many times already this season.

Clough is right, we do have a good squad but the class difference that we have is not being utilised in the right way. We are throwing away point after point due to simple bad management and poor tactics.

Any half decent manager who has a sound understanding about football tactics and strategy along with a proven knowledge base and with a desire to win that he can transfer to the team will get us promoted from this league.

But the appointment needs to be soon.

Wow - well done you won a game and arn't I correct in saying that you're still along way behind us in the league.

Also, everyone connected to BFC is predicting you'll sell Charlie Austin in Jan - how well will your 1 man team do once you've sold him ?

Also, most newspapers today reporting Paul Ince is to be the next BFC manager - hahahah, this guy was half a notch above Kean, someone who makes Brian Laws look like an average manager - good luck, you're gonna need it !!

What we ned for starters is a 20k turnout on Wednesday.
The three week lack of action has given many of the promisers time to think up excuses not to go.
Kean goes, they all return, that was the deal. Not Kean goes, right we'll pretend to wait to see what happens before we pretend that we might come back. Too many have forgotten how to support the blue and white halves.
The pretenders, maybe tomorrow, mabe some day. Maybe they've been listening to Chrissie Hynde.

Agree totally, all is not lost............. not yet anyway, Simon Grayson should be on the list. Gets the best out of average players, gets them playing as a team. And thats what we need. Also ex player with management experience and he's young, so he ticks all the boxes for me. Holloway is another option but his teams tend to fade as does mick mcarthys. But anyone like that would do. No more unknown starters please.

Why are you promoting a boycott when you don't even go to games. You haven't been this season so are you contemplating boycotting your boycott? Just asking.

Matt Newcastle says...

I thought with the departure of the odious one we were going to get back to being realistic

Robinson losing his once dynamic goalkeeping skills
Orr totally out of his depth
Olson poor defensively still ok left midfield
Dann no comment
Givet susceptible to ball over the top and to slow
Pederson skills still ok reactions/ legs slowed so struggling
Etuhu ditto
Murphy ditto
Dunn ditto

Let's be totally REALISTIC, not that I find it easy to state the above, the players are just not dynamic / fit / competitive / skilful enough anymore.

New manager will hopefully bring an instant dynamism to the situation however can only work with what we immediately have available and would probably struggle to get much more out of this first team crop of players Rhodes and Richards apart.

The back 5 requires a total reconstructionbut is not being helped by a Central midfield that is by it's sell by date by some considerable years no matter who you pick out of Murphy / Etuhu / Dunn / Pederson /

Time for perhaps some brave selections to be made especially with key home games to come.

Blacks tenure to date has proven that the present set have not got what it takes to eek out the wins necessary to sustain the pressure at the top.

Upwards of 8 / 9 players being selected weekly are not up to it. What a sad indictment on Black Hendry and the odious ones tenure. Why are they still being selected?

Why are you promoting a boycott when you don't even go to games. You haven't been this season so are you contemplating boycotting your boycott? Just asking.
All this boycott talk needs to stop and now. The boycotting was to try to remove the drunkard liar and it worked. It's going to take more than boycotting to get rid of the parasites commonly known as Venkys. I hate them. I hate their ignorance of Rovers, football in general and down right appalling management and ownership of Rovers but if, and it's a big if, they get a decent manager inplace and very soon, things will surely change. We had the worst manager in the history of football and his shadow of doom will linger over the squad whilst Black and Hendry are still there. Once the new managers in place things will change.

The main issue as I see it is lack of fitness. Only 90 minutes training a day I hear. No wonder they can't see out a game.

So says the king of excuses on why you're not turning up to support the team.

I suppose we'll be seeing you there on Wednesday or will you have to just pop to the corner shop for a pint of milk and be unable to turn up. If you can't find an excuse and don't have a GPS let me know and i'll give you directions.

BTW sorry to keep you up to date but Kean actually resigned so you will never know whether you're boycotting actually worked will you?

went to Derby Dunn actually had a reasonable game and looked mobile compared with Murphy. Pederson had one of his better matches. The reason we fell deeper was Black's substitution of Dunn on 66 minutes who was one of the few players able to keep the ball for more than one touch and go forward with it.He shuffled the formation put Richards in the middle who looked like he was still in Algarve mode and put Formica wide right whose lack of pace, strength, inability to tackle was again exposed(watch the build up to their goal) as Derby attacked our right flank.Hopefully these draws will focus Venkys into getting an experienced manager allow him clear most of the signings that arrived under Kean and are clearly not up to the job then let him rebuild. The season is not dead just yet if they pull their fingers out.

Shearer and Dowie. That's the funniest thing I've heard all day

Well did you see the state of Shearer on MOTD tonight?

Mumbling buffon looks like a down and out. He probably drinks more than Steve Kean.

And Dowie's a cretin who blathers on about bouncebackability and the like.

Get a manger who can motivate and do some plan B,C,D instased of only one PlanA, Black asked for a draw - he got it. the mindset should win the game.

Hope Murphy get a break, good for him. get some youth get chance in each game, see there power of running and control the ball.

Come on nineteen and three quarters stop trying to dodge your "fair weather fan" status by asking me who I support. That's actually irrelevant as well you know.

I could support PNE, Man City, Rovers or Bury but the fact remains your're one of those who said you were boycotting until Kean was sacked. Kean actually resigned supposedly because he wasn't allowed to pick the team albeit he probably jumped before he was pushed, but we will now never know will we although the result is the same, Kean has gone

So will you be there Wednesday or are you still boycotting. As someone pointed out in an earlier post how can it be described as boycotting if you never went in the first place?

Also, everyone connected to BFC is predicting you'll sell Charlie Austin in Jan - how well will your 1 man team do once you've sold him ?

The club should do its business in private, but they they could outline the process and how things are progressing. I am shocked that with all of the goings on over the last 2 years, they appear to be so unprepared. They may have wanted Steve Kean to succeed, but the possibility of replacing him should have been in their plans.

A refreshing comment at last. The deal was as you say Kean goes we will all be back to support the team. Now all of a sudden everybody has to go.I suspect that any manager foolish enough to consider taking this club on will be influenced by the pure bile published daily on this site

Total CRAP !![/p]
Then we will have a better idea of what we have that can cope in this division.[/p]
What we ned for starters is a 20k turnout on Wednesday.

You're obsession with 'fair weather fans' and 'glory hunters', plus your reluctance to reveal who your club of choice is suggests to me you're another dingle desperate to prove that Rovers are not as well supported as Burnley. Desperate to wipe the last 20 years from history in order to satisfy your mind that Burnley really are a big club with great support.

The only thing that is irrelevant is your assumptions of weather or not I've boycotted or even been in the first place. Comedy sunshine, absolute comdey. By the way, I will be there Weds......

maybe I should provide you with my ticket details to convince you I'm not a fair weather fan?

Whats the likelehood that both Burnley and Bolton have managers before us?I cannot believe how difficult they make things, they have known for months that we need to replace Kean and yet when he goes we are pratting about looking at Tim Sherwood who has no experience of running a football club or wheeling and dealing for players.
Why have we not looked at people like Venables,George Graham and Glen Hoddle? We dont seem to have the football people at Ewood who know the game and the people in it who are quality.
The mail state we are offering the job Holloway at Blackpool but his chairman has not had any calls and it is ages since Kean went so Holloway cannot be on the horizon unless they are still interviewing dead legs rather that going for the best c.v.s

We are now have played a quarter of our matches and it is pretty obvious that we are not good enough to finish in the top two. Unless we are able to bring in at least 4 quality players in January we can also kiss goodbye to the play offs. A return of 3 points from the last 12 is relegation form.

It does not really matter who the manager is, we are at least 2 quality defenders short and we need two pacey midfield players. Dropping Murphy yesterday was a start, I suspect, he was a Kean decision, but he is way off the pace and will not be good enough. His wages are a total waste of resources in my opinion. I also have serious doubts about Orr and Dann.

The only wyt we will get promotion now is to somehow pick up enough points to keep us in the top half until January and ensure we spend on quality in the window. Fail this season an we will be out of the top flight for an awful long time.

To blame Eric Black for current performance is like blaming Ronal MacDonald forthe quality of their hamburgers. Yes, but no one wants work for the Venky's....Not even Hughes etc...When will the 'Penny.drop'?????

It's true. Also, the first thing any manager will want to do when he comes in will be to get rid of Hendry and Black et all.

More expenses for Venky!

I expect the reason Shebby wants Sherwood so badly is because he wants him to keep all these terrible appointments

Come on bburnrover - The names you mention are never going to come to Ewood.......thankful
ly.

Venebles has not managed a league club for almost 10 years now since he almost took Leeds down.

The last club George Graham managed was Spurs in 2001 where he was sacked for breach of contract. He suffers badly from arhiritis now and can hardy play a round of golf never mind mange a football club.

Glen Hoddle's last club was Wolves where in two seasons he managed to draw almost half of the all the clubs games and I think he left by mutual consent in 2006.

So you named two managers that hardly managed a single game between them in the last decade and one who has not managed for six years and is considered a just a wee bit strange.

But then again it is a very strange day in the betting odds for our next manager - as Billy McKinley is now clear favourite for the job with some bookies.

He has been with Fulham for a few years now as reserve team coach and working with the young lads. A kind of poor mans Tim Sherwood.

God help us if its another Scot at the helm...he possibly also worked with Kean at Fulham?

Have a look on odds checker, it appears to be a straight choice between Billy McKinlay and Holloway.

Mckinlay is the assistant Scotland boss at the min and may be sacked soon, so not much compensation to pay there.

I have this feeling the job is his!

Have a look on odds checker, it appears to be a straight choice between Billy McKinlay and Holloway.

Mckinlay is the assistant Scotland boss at the min and may be sacked soon, so not much compensation to pay there.

I have this feeling the job is his!

Is anyone happy with that?
You have got to be kidding, talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel, what has happened to the innumerable top managers that singh, venkys have supposed to have been inundated with, names that seem to have been interested in the job.
BILLY MCKINLAY ASSISTANT MANAGER NOT OF SCOTLAND OF THE EVEN LESSER MINNOWS OF WORLD FOOTBALL ,NORTHERN IRELAND, THIS MAN HAS NEVER MANAGED A FOOTBALL CLUB EVER !!!

NO DOUBT THE REASON FOR BRINGING IN MCKINLAY IS THAT HE WILL KEEP ON STAFF THE HOPELESS BLACK AND THE SWINDLER HENDRY,PARTICULARLY HENDRY DRINKING PALS, AND SAVE THE OWNERS MONEY EVEN THOUGH WE THE ROVERS SUPPORTERS ARE ALL UNANIMOUS IN INSISTING WE WANT RID OF ALL OF KEANS PEOPLE WE WANT A NEW COACHING STAFF ,IF THIS IS SHEBBY AND THE VENKY`S VIEW ON A QUALITY MANAGER , YOU HAVE NOT YET EXPERIENCED THE ANGER OF ROVERS FANS.

I wish I was kidding, but check out the odds, this is getting quite worrying. In terms of what happened to the innumerable managers linked with the job, think Venkys and you will have your answer.

I hate to be a doom merchant, but if McKinlay is appointed, I think we may have a few unhappy fans around!
if this is true, then it is not in the best interest for brfc and fans or for the future of blackburn rovers football club but for venkys own personal buisiness gains which now seems to be, nothings changed carry on regardless of fans opinions, funny isn't it venkys and singh a few weeks ago were begging fans to come back as things had changed.

very true RC

As with Black though, McKinlay wouldn't put up with the abuse Kean got. Whilst having a link with Rovers, he would be a disastrous and very unpopular appointment. Can Venkys risk another boycott? Do they even care? Probably not.....

Well I don't know if the Holloway thing in the papers has any more truth in it than the latest rover on Mars photographing Elvis or the outrageous claim that more than one brain cell has been found in Burnley but Holloway could be just what we need to counter Venkys. Whilst he was at Plymouth he was on the local radio station, Pirate FM, and he is absolutely barking. Madam, Singh and the Veo boys can try whatever they want, he wont take an ounce of notice. he will manage and he will get results, he will talk to the supporters and he will take us back to the Prem in spite of Singh and Venkys, not because of them. Any truth in the rumour that the dingles are renaming the Bob Lord stand the Jimmy Saville stand???

I though McKinley was NI assistant (not Scotland)? But either way he could be sacked soon.

His main asset will be that he knows the club well enough and was a fierce player with a 100% never say die attitude on the field. If he can manage with the same style as then, he may get this lot playing properly. But he really doesn't fire mine or I guess most fans imagination of who we would have wanted for our next manager. Still we should back whoever takes the job and give them a fair chance to succeed at least.

There is a number of experienced managers either foreign or British , why do we have to go for ex Rovers players and usually Scottish ?
.
Look there is always someone that is not gonna be happy with someone ,but look at Burnley ,they like Dougie Freedman a good honourable man, they asked Palace permission to talk to him ,that`s how easy it is.
There is Holloway,McCarthy, Keane, OGS, McClair, McInnes, Walter Smith,Benitez,Avram Grant, Curbishley the list is endless ,but there will be people not happy woth each one, but bye the way Shebby you are allowed to approach people that have not applied ,I doubt if Dougie Freedman applied for the job with the Dingles.
SHEBBY THINK BIG , ROVERS ARE A BIG CLUB AND REQUIRE A BIG PERSONALITY MANAGER.

My only comment is that I knew Billy when he lived near Mellor. He was a good guy, down to earth family man who knew his football. Whether he will do a good job I couldn't say. He was particulrly friendly with Sherwood and Sutton so maybe there could be link up with those two.

gher . He's played the second highest number of games ever achieved for Liverpool. And the highest number of European matches. Medals from all the big trophies - except the PL - over his fireplace. He is a no-brainer. For fans to have mentioned the likes of McCarthy (no better than Big Sham) and Billy Davies (who?) the second that SK jumped ship smacks of a lack of imagination on the terraces that has clearly infected the boardroom since. At this rate, the club is going to follow the post-Big Sham experience and drop down another league within two years. And, if truth be told, fans and board alike will have to share the blame for that.

I don't know if JA is Billy McK agent - but I think that is the first thing Cryer should ask.

Coincidence that Billy Mac was also coach at Fulham at same time as Kean ??

I'll guarantee you there is NO coincidence here.

Reading between the lines, the JA camp, (Agnew) have been pushing for Eric Black for 3 weeks but now even they must realise that Black is a more of an incompetant bufoon than Kean was so I presume that the have now put Billy Mac's name forward instead - pound to a penny, Kean was one of his best drinking buddys when they worked together at Fulham and JA is his agent.

Ask any policeman - they are no such thing as COINCIDENCES.

Well, well well. All the Boycott and Baracking Brigade must be feeling very proud of yourselves today!
You and your mate Shebby, The Snake, Singh got rid of a manager who started his last game at the club at the top of the table and now look likely to replace him with more crowd displeasing cannon fodder.
If Billy McKinlay IS appointed, even I might consider a boycott! Personally, I believe that this is a bit of reverse psychology from the Snake to make everyone feel happier when he appoints the Country Bumpkin from Blackpool.
Lets have twenty thousand at Ewood on Wednesday chanting SHERWOOD IN!

I have this feeling the job is his!

FR - you like to post on here yet for 2 years you have gone out of your way to avoid actually finding out what has actually gone on (and continues to go on behind the scenes at BRFC).

Instead of continually posting irrelevant pap, why don't you actually educate yourself with the ACTUAL happenings at your own club.

One of the reasons this appointment is taking forever is there is (as always) a POWER STRUGGLE between our OWNERS as they have differing views as to which dirrection the club should go in (and football is often NOT the main requirement).

JA and SK hand remains tightly gripped round the throat of BFRC - why otherwise does EB remain as one of the 3 favorites for the job then as soon as he drifts in some-one else (almost a carbon copy), friend of SK, Scottish, never gonna get a big-time management job and (quite possibly) a client of JA comes into the betting as favourite.

Its time ALL Rovers fans stoped hiding behind their own IGNORANCE - enough is enough - if we can't be arsed to stop these CRIMINALS killing our club then who else is going to ????

John Edwards, football reporter of the Daily Mail reported on 30th Sept 2011 that Steve Kean was a HUGE admirer of BILLY McKINLEY and was thinking about him for the no2 job aft JJ left although he went with Clement.

23 days gone from the club yet Keans shaddow and influence seems to hang heavy over the club - amazing what power and influence 5% ownership can get you.

Or is it just YET another great big COINCIDENCE ????

He is a no-brainer. For fans to have mentioned the likes of McCarthy (no better than Big Sham) and Billy Davies (who?) the second that SK jumped ship smacks of a lack of imagination on the terraces that has clearly infected the boardroom since. At this rate, the club is going to follow the post-Big Sham experience and drop down another league within two years. And, if truth be told, fans and board alike will have to share the blame for that.

As with Black though, McKinlay wouldn't put up with the abuse Kean got. Whilst having a link with Rovers, he would be a disastrous and very unpopular appointment. Can Venkys risk another boycott? Do they even care? Probably not.....

whoever they appoint we have to support their decision and give the new manager a fair crack at getting us out this league.

Fans can have an 'influence' on the big decisions for sure - but fans don't pick the manager at any club.

Have a look on odds checker, it appears to be a straight choice between Billy McKinlay and Holloway.

Mckinlay is the assistant Scotland boss at the min and may be sacked soon, so not much compensation to pay there.

I have this feeling the job is his!

Is anyone happy with that?
I though McKinley was NI assistant (not Scotland)? But either way he could be sacked soon.

His main asset will be that he knows the club well enough and was a fierce player with a 100% never say die attitude on the field. If he can manage with the same style as then, he may get this lot playing properly. But he really doesn't fire mine or I guess most fans imagination of who we would have wanted for our next manager. Still we should back whoever takes the job and give them a fair chance to succeed at least.

Its time ALL Rovers fans stoped hiding behind their own IGNORANCE - enough is enough - if we can't be arsed to stop these CRIMINALS killing our club then who else is going to ????
deluded, paranoid, over-inflated ego, know all who knows nowt....take your pick JC you fit all the above descriptions.

If there are any real criminals at Ewood then why are they not prosecuted?

I always fully supported BRAG and BRSIT and they have done an awful lot for the fans and for the club - but I have yet to see anything come out of all the allegations. You seem to think you are one of the 'inner sanctum' but nobody I spoke to seems to know you?

I think you believe that you are some kind of avenging angel of death or something equally weird and unwonderful....time to grow-up JC and get a life - if you know what one of those is.

if you feel that you cannot support the team then do us all a favour and stay away. Sounds like you are looking for an excuse to do just that....!

You're obsession with 'fair weather fans' and 'glory hunters', plus your reluctance to reveal who your club of choice is suggests to me you're another dingle desperate to prove that Rovers are not as well supported as Burnley. Desperate to wipe the last 20 years from history in order to satisfy your mind that Burnley really are a big club with great support.

The only thing that is irrelevant is your assumptions of weather or not I've boycotted or even been in the first place. Comedy sunshine, absolute comdey. By the way, I will be there Weds......

maybe I should provide you with my ticket details to convince you I'm not a fair weather fan?

what a silly billy you are sunshine ;)
Ticket details would be good thanks

You are one to talk about not going - you live in France !!

How much have you pledged to BRSIT - you are rich yet you have and continue to do NOTHING for the club you say you support (I have pledged £5,000. and if the day comes when we get the Venky scum out of this club then I will pony up).

You are famous on this site for being the WORST tipster the world has EVER seen (didnt you tip us to win virtually every week last season and er, we got relegated with 31 points ??).

You know about as much about what is going on at BRFC as Ronnie Irani and Alan Brazil now jog on you EX Rovers fan and let us back at the "coalface" in East Lancs get on with supporting and trying to defend/save our club from its biggest chalenge in its 137 year history - yet you are too stupid and ignorant to even understand how much danger the club is currently in.

You post continual IRRELEVANT cr@p that has no relevance to what is going on at the club at this current time yet you are too stupid or arrogant to even look into what is actually happening yet you are happy to always defend the status quo including scum like Venkys, Agnew, Kean (until very late in his tennure when you finally switched to the side of the majority of fans) and no doubt J Anderson as well.

Not only that but whilst you are sat in your French ivory tower on your fat @rse you are always quick to have a go at PROPER Rovers fans like Wayne Wild or Glen Mullan - fans who are giving up much of their own time to try to protect and help the club that we all claim to love - the least some old EX fan can do is give them some modicum of support.

As for "nobody I speak to seems to know you" - what the **** does that mean ??? - are you checking up on me ?? (freak).

Please don't reply to this or any other post I do - as far as I am concerned you are 1 notch lower than a Dingle season ticket holder and, just like Kean, Agnew and Venkys - you are disgrace to our great club !!

For anyone interested on www.oddschecker.com it gives the best price for each bookmaker available for different events. The best odds available for Billy McKinlay are 8/15. If the bookemakers are right it is as good as his.

I don't really want to get involved in your argument but I am afraid J C Rishton if you believe that Wild and Mullan are doing what they do for the love of Rovers rather than an ego trip you are very very sadly mistaken. If you think we are in trouble with Venkys in charge I am 100% sure we would be in very serious trouble with these to trying to run things.

Yes, but unfortunately most of the people you have named (possibly all) would not sink so low as to be employed by Venky's. They are the real problem and the way forward is for them to sell,ASAP.

they had those same odds for Sherwood the week before last and Holloway was priced almost as short at one time last week.

McKinley was still 66-1 on Friday so some heavy money must have gone on him on Sat/Sunday. Still like with Sherwood's odds-on price it doesn't automatically the short odds will equate to him being our next manager - but I wouldn't back against him at those odds.

Just hope that it is all smoke and mirrors and that Venkys have really been talking to someone else (who can unite the fans and the players) in the background?
