Burnley defender Edgar doubtful for Blackpool clash

DAVID Edgar could be a doubt for Burnley's home game against Blackpool on Saturday.

The Canadian is not due back from his international exploits with Canada until this afternoon, with a long haul flight from Honduras anticipated to take its toll on the defender.

Caretaker manager Terry Pashley has been putting the squad through its paces in preparations for the televised derby - the Clarets' first game since manager Eddie Howe left for a second spell in charge of Bournemouth.

Edgar's late return, following the end of Canada's 2014 World Cup hopes, could affect his chances of making Saturday's line-up.

Pashley is also set to tread carefully with fit-again striker Danny Ings.

The 20-year-old returned to full training this week after recovering from a knee injury he sustained in a pre-season game at Rochdale.

But otherwise Pashley hopes to have a fully-fit squad to choose from.

Our defensive game has been doubtful all season! I just hope saturday's performance isn't like every other time we've been televised.
