Tindall: We stick together

JASON Tindall says he was always going to follow Eddie Howe back to Bournemouth after the Burnley manager decided to return to the south coast for personal reasons.

Howe quit Turf Moor on Friday to rejoin former club Bournemouth, with family reasons playing a major part in his decision following the death of his mother earlier this year.

Tindall has followed Howe back to Dean Court after working as his assistant at Burnley and the duo were unveiled at a press conference on Saturday.

“Obviously I haven’t been through what Eddie’s been through,” Tindall said.

“He’s been through a very difficult 12 months and a lot has gone on.

“We are a team, we stick together and I’m fully behind him.”

Tindall had taken training with Burnley on Friday morning as Howe’s departure was finalised, before he himself also made the move back to Bournemouth.

“It’s great to be back,” Tindall said.

Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell revealed that his wife had a role to play in the return of Howe and Tindall.

"My wife persuaded me to try and bring them back,” Mitchell said.

“I don’t normally listen to her so I had to swing it so that it was my idea so then it was okay.

"I didn’t see why they wouldn’t want to drop down to League One and, who knows, we might overtake them (Burnley) soon.”
