Ali Akhtar won his debut fight
BLACKBURN with Darwen Police ABC have had a busy start to the new season with young fighters in action on shows across the region.
Young Ali Akhtar had a night to remember on a bill organised by North West Region ABA at Park Royal Hotel in Stretton near Warrington.
The 11-year-old impressed judges on his debut against Jack Backhouse from Ambelsde ABC to get a unanimous points decision.
On the same bill, Asad Barlas, 17, was up against Anfield ABC’s Garry Bailey from Anfield ABC and was just too good for the Liverpudlian, forcing a standing count in the second round on his way to a convincing points win.
Hassan Khan, 14, also enjoyed that winning feeling in an event organised by Burslem ABC Stoke.
But there were narrow defeats for Moin Khan, 14, and Usman Hussain, 18, on a show by JR Gym in Preston
