Clarets defender in line for quick comeback

CLARETS captain Jason Shackell could make a comeback against Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow night.

The defender has been struggling with a knee injury and was pulled out of the squad to face Millwall on Saturday after complaining of the problem in the warm-up.

David Edgar came off the bench to replace the former Derby County stopper.

But assistant manager Jason Tindall says Shackell is responding well to treatment and could be in line for a speedy return.

“He's already better than he was on Saturday, so he has every chance of being available and playing against Sheffield Wednesday,” Tindall revealed.
