Burnley striker Ings moves closer to return

DANNY Ings has been given the all-clear to step up his recovery from a knee operation.

Ings was ruled out for up to six months after sustaining the injury in August, but surgery later revealed that he was likely to be back in around three months.

And the striker has now been cleared to start running as he continues his rehabilitation, although a definitive date has not yet been set for his return to action.

Jason Shackell and Junior Stanislas missed Tuesday’s Capital One Cup defeat at Swindon with more minor injuries but their hamstring problems will be assessed again ahead of Saturday’s home game against Millwall.
