Dann: We have yet to perform this year
7:50am Monday 24th September 2012 in Sport
By Andy Cryer, Blackburn Rovers reporter
SCOTT Dann admits Blackburn Rovers have yet to play well this season after they were knocked off the Championship top spot over the weekend.
A miserable 2-1 home defeat to Middlesbrough on Friday night ended Rovers' unbeaten start to the campaign, with Dann admitting the new-look squad has yet to click.
Rovers' centre half was quick to recognise they have to improve to earn Premier League promotion but was confident there was still far more to come.
He said: “We are really disappointed to have lost our unbeaten record, especially at home in the manner that we did. I don't think we played very well at all.
“If you look at the start overall, we have made a good start without ever really playing to our full potential. We are not really clicking with each other yet.
“There is definitely a lot more to come. I don't think there has been a game this season where we have played anywhere near our standards. Maybe 30 minutes here and there, but we know that ourselves.
“We have shown our character to grind the results out and get the points early doors and when we do finally start clicking, hopefully soon, we should push on.
“We know we have not played very well in any game, but we know the quality we have in the changing room and when we finally click we will be a top team in this league.”
Rovers travel to Charlton on Saturday looking to put Friday's defeat behind them, with Dann insisting a positive reaction is important.
“If you look back on the start, seven games in with 14 points, we all would have taken that but it is disappointing to lose of course,” he said.
“I don't think we played very well ourselves and made it a lot easier for them, they did play well though and fair play to them.
“Being at home and playing the way we did, we are really disappointed. We have to put that right against Charlton next weekend.
“It is a really tough league to play in and we are going to have ups and downs. We have to make sure when we do have a bad result, we put that right in the next game.”

Congratulations to Scott Dann (an average Championship player - at best), as his and many other pathetic performances both this season and last have eventually contributed to some common-sense at last prevailing!
However VENKYS - BE WARNED ... We will NOT accept Keanocchio staying in any way, shape or form ... he must go, as far away from OUR club as possible.
The only way to unite and excite the fans is for an ex-player to be appointed ... take your pick from:- Sherwood, Shearer, Salgado, Tugay, Flitcroft/Short. Berg, etc ... this although frought with danger (an inexperienced ex-player of repute never seems to work too well) - is worth a punt and will help to re-unite us fans behind OUR club and get us moving in the correct direction.
The crucial thing is what Venkys promise or rather don't promise the new incumbant - but lets just start by proper communiaction (bye, bye Aggers you time is wel and truely up!) - and either the brothers grim or through Shebby we'd like a proper up front vision for the future of OUR club - from their perspective and I don't care if they say 'we're here to turn this club into as profitable business as possible and this means getting back into the Premier League and working on a tight wage structure and selling to buy ... at least lets all start afresh with some honesty and integrity and basic communication - after that anything will be a bonus!
Bye, bye and good riddance Keanocchio!

Whoever might take over will realise that he will be hounded out if we haven't won the treble by the end of next season!
Ironic that Tim Sherwood was perhaps our finest player in the Premiership winning team but regularly faced abuse from the terraces.
The Special Needs Supporters Club must be praying that he doesn't get the job because SHERWOOD OUT will mean them having to learn to chant an extra syllable!

You'll go BACKWARDS with him in charge, if that is even possible.
And what's this notion that you'll start getting 20000 if Kean gets fired. don't make me laugh.
All you bul1sh1tters giving it "I've supported this club for 35 years" yeah yeah you're just a bunch of fair weather fans and you know it!”
