STEVEN Gayle has rejoined the Rossendale Raptors for a second year and will once again spearhead the club’s National League campaign.
Gayle was a huge success at the club last year, leading the league in scoring and being voted as the MVP of National League Division Four North.
The Raptors managed to hold off the several other British Basketball League clubs who who wanted to add Gayle to their roster.
Gayle said: “I was very happy at Rossendale last season, it really feels like home. The club is brilliant, the people are brilliant, and the fans are great. It's a very exciting and fun place to be, and I'm delighted to be back for another year.”
Coach Jim Fry said: “It’s great to have Steve back for another season. We have a lot of strength in depth but he brings that extra flair, an extra spark and to be honest he’s the best scorer in the league as well as a guy who creates a lot of opportunities for the other guys in our squad.”
Gayle will be in action against his former club Manchester Giants at Haslingden Sports Centre tonight (8pm tip off).
