Accrington Stanley boss Cook keeping his cool
11:50am Monday 3rd September 2012 in Sport
DELIGHTED Accrington Stanley boss Paul Cook refused to get carried away after his side’s excellent 3-0 victory at Cheltenham.
Clinical Stanley shocked the Robins with a superb display of finishing to destroy the hosts’ unbeaten record.
Cheltenham were on the back foot from the fourth minute when Padraig Amond slotted home. Town had the stuffing knocked out of them in the 34th minute when George Miller slammed home from close range, before Romuald Boco added a third minutes after the break.
Cook said: “Cheltenham are a very good side and they’ll be up there at the top end of the table by the end of the season. This is a very strong ground to come to but, that said, I thought we looked a threat throughout the game.
“Last week we got beaten by Exeter and I felt exactly the same about that as I do about this. We’ve been trying our best to create a work ethic and that’s the important thing. We just keep working hard and then these sort of things happen.
“We’ve won a game. That’s all we’ve done at the moment.”
