TEAM NEWS: Rhodes starts for Blackburn Rovers

BLACKBURN Rovers £8million man Jordan Rhodes makes his debut for the club at Leeds United this afternoon.

Rhodes will be deployed as the lone striker, with Nuno Gomes expected to play off him in attack.

Bruno Ribeiro has been selected at right back, with Markus Olsson at left back, while Mauro Formica returns on the right of midfield.

Martin Olsson is a surprising absence from the substitutes bench as he continues his recovery from injury.

ROVERS: Robinson, Ribeiro, Dann, Givet, Olsson, Formica, Murphy, Etuhu, Pedersen, Gomes, Rhodes

SUBS: Orr, Lowe, Jorge, Edinho, Rochina, Hanley, Kean

 

LEEDS: Kenny, Peltier, Drury, Lees, Pearce, Austin, Becchio, Varney, Norris, Diouf, McCormack

SUBS: Ashdown, Kisnorbo, White, Brown, Gray, Byram, Poleon

Nice one Rhodes starts.... up front on his own!? I see only Rochina actually capable of doing something off the bench. Not a bad line-up though, lets get out the traps early and get a goal. One to watch for them is Rodolph Austin. We need to win this midfield battle. If we do we can win for sure, just don't sit back on a one goal cushion lads.

Can't fathom what Kean is doing with some of our player's though. Vukcevic not even on the bench is a bit on an insult, surely he needs some game time...

Martin Olsson no doubt told Kean what he thought of him!
