Poyet hopes for ‘normality’ at Turf Moor
BRIGHTON manager Gus Poyet is hoping for a “normal game” at Turf Moor tomorrow, after incident was sparked in both fixtures last season.
The Seagulls had two players sent off in the first 12 minutes in the first game on the south coast, while Poyet disappeared down the tunnel 10 minutes before the final whistle at Turf Moor, enraged by refereeing decisions.
Burnley won both games 1-0, but of first meeting Poyet said: “We played well enough to win the game.
“We had so many shots and we missed the target.
“The game was strange There was too much time lost.
“We played, without there being a serious injury, about seven minutes of injury time.
“Their physio went on six or seven times in the second half. It was a very strange game. Let’s hope it is normal game.”
But whatever happens, Poyet is looking forward to catching up with Burnley boss Eddie Howe post-match.
“Eddie is the kind of manager you really enjoy having a drink with after the game and chatting about football,” said the former Spurs midfielder.
“They are a difficult team to play against but the good thing is we know a lot about them.”
